In this workshop, you will have the rare opportunity to enter a bamboo grove and cut bamboo yourself. This hands-on experience will leave a lasting impression! Workshop Content 1️⃣ Bamboo Cutting Experience 🌿 Enter a bamboo grove and learn about the fragrance, types, and characteristics of bamboo. 🎋 Participants who wish to can take home one piece of bamboo they cut themselves. (Limited to the bamboo cutting season: September – March). 2️⃣ Making Bamboo Strips (Higo) 🔪 Learn two traditional methods: Hand-splitting – Vertical and horizontal splitting techniques. Machine processing – Modern method for creating uniform strips. 💡 At first, it may be challenging to split the bamboo straight, but you will learn how to control and adjust it. 3️⃣ Basket Weaving 🧺 Learn the traditional weaving technique to create Japanese-style baskets. 🎨 The fresh green bamboo creates natural striped patterns, which will later develop into a beautiful glossy brown color with time. 💎 The baskets are durable, long-lasting, and truly one-of-a-kind treasures!
