It’s a set of two.（All seats unreserved） The 5th Ryukyu Shimpo Arts Theater March 22 (Sun) – “Take (Bamboo)” Performance The 5th Ryukyu Shimpo Arts Theater presents “Hana no Matsu · Take · Ume” (Pine, Bamboo, and Plum in Bloom), a special performance featuring top prize winners of the Ryukyu Classical Performing Arts Competition. Known affectionately as “Geikon,” the Ryukyu Classical Performing Arts Competition is considered a gateway to success in Okinawa’s traditional performing arts and has produced many outstanding performers. From its first competition in 1966 through the 59th edition held last year, recipients of the highest award across six divisions—Ryukyu dance, sanshin, koto, flute, kokyu, and taiko—will gather on one stage. Over three days, they will present refined and elegant performances of the highest caliber.
